After the Arizona Cardinals placed cornerback Will Johnson on injured reserve with a potential season-ending neck injury, the team listed fellow corners Max Melton and Garrett Williams on the injury report ahead of Sunday’s NFC West matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
Max Melton (toe) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice after playing 36% of defensive snaps over Arizona’s first two games, while Garrett Williams was limited. Williams has yet to make his season debut after suffering a torn Achilles last year. Melton left last Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks with the toe injury.
On the offensive side of the ball, quarterback Jacoby Brissett showed up on the injury report with a hip issue, but he was a full participant on Wednesday.
While Arizona’s secondary is reeling, San Francisco’s receiving corps is having its own injury problems.
De’Zhaun Stribling, Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk are already on injured reserve, while Mike Evans and Demarcus Robinson did not practice on Wednesday.
