Fantasy Football RB Rankings Week 3: Who to start, best sleepers, top busts image
Fantasy football managers now have two weeks of NFL action behind them, providing a clearer picture of which running backs are likely to deliver consistent production as Week 3 approaches. Early-season performances, workload patterns, and injuries are key factors influencing this week's rankings.
Jahmyr Gibbs, Derrick Henry, and Jonathan Taylor remain top options, while several other backs have seen their fantasy value fluctuate based on their usage in the first two weeks. With injuries still affecting many backfields across the league, pinpointing the right starters and sleepers has become more crucial than ever.
Keep reading for our full breakdown of the running back position for Week 3 of the 2026 fantasy season.

Week 3 RB Sleepers
Jonah Coleman
Coleman is especially intriguing because the Broncos' backfield remains unsettled. J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are both dealing with hamstring issues, and Coleman already showed he can produce when given an opportunity. He turned 13 touches into 14.8 PPR points in Week 2, thanks to a touchdown.
The matchup against the Rams also gives Coleman upside if Denver is forced to lean on him. The biggest issue is his ankle injury — he did not practice Wednesday, so his availability needs to be monitored. If Coleman returns and either Dobbins or Harvey is limited or out, his workload could make him a legitimate FLEX option.
Tank Bigsby
Bigsby is a sleeper almost entirely because of the uncertainty surrounding Saquon Barkley. Barkley suffered a stinger in Week 2, and Bigsby stepped into a larger role, finishing with 13 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown, plus two catches. He also had more total touches than Will Shipley after Barkley left.
If Barkley can't play against Chicago, Bigsby should see most of the Eagles' running-back work. Chicago is also considered a favorable matchup for running backs, making Bigsby a particularly interesting RB2/FLEX sleeper if Barkley is ruled out.
Week 3 RB Busts
Cam Skattebo
Skattebo is a bust candidate despite being the Giants' lead back, as his efficiency has dropped sharply from Week 1 to Week 2. He went from 81 rushing yards on 18 carries in Week 1 to just 36 yards on 12 carries in Week 2, averaging only 3.0 yards per carry against the Rams.
The bigger concern is the Giants' quarterback situation. Jaxson Dart suffered a significant knee injury and could miss extended time, which could make New York's offense much less efficient. That could lead to fewer scoring opportunities for Skattebo and make it harder for him to overcome a potentially modest rushing total.
Jadarian Price
Price is a bust candidate largely because of his shoulder injury and an uncertain workload heading into Week 3. He left Seattle's Week 2 blowout against Arizona after the injury, though coach Mike Macdonald said it did not appear serious.
Even if Price plays, there's a risk Seattle limits his workload. If he's unable to go or is restricted, Emanuel Wilson and George Holani could split the backfield work, making it difficult to trust Price as a high-volume fantasy option.
