The latest Premier League transfer news involving Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and more
The first international break is upon us, and the week is dragging by at a glacial pace, as we wait for what feels like an eternity for some football action. England will fill the void over the next three weeks, as Thomas Tuchel’s side look to recapture the magic of their famous night at the Azteca when they embark upon their Nations League campaign.

England will take on Spain, Croatia and Czechia over the course of the next three weeks, as they look to continue their impressive form under Tuchel. Then on October 10th, the Premier League will return, resuming an enthralling season that has seen Man City race to the top of the table and Tottenham slump down to the very bottom.
Today’s rumours round-up starts at Nottingham Forest, who are among the lowest scoring Premier League teams so far this season with just four goals in five matches. According to Talk Sport, the club look likely to see further interest in their talisman Morgan Gibbs-White, who was called up to the England squad as a reinforcement after initially missing out.
The story says that Bayern Munich have emerged as surprise candidates to sign the 26-year-old star, who signed a new deal with Forest back in July 2025 after coming close to joining Spurs. Details of the Bavarian giants’ apparent interest are brief to put it mildly, but they are described as “leading contenders” to sign Gibbs-White, which is notable.
The 3AM Verdict: Forest did some job hanging on to Gibbs-White last year, but it feels like they can only continue to do so for so long. He’s a player who should be playing Champions League football, and unless Oliver Glasner can pull off a miracle this season, that won’t be happening any time soon. We’re not entirely convinced he’ll join Bayern, but Forest may need to consider cashing in soon with his contract set to expire in 2028.
Crystal Palace and Forest missed out on £21m gem

Next up, we’ll stay at Forest for the time being, and introduce Crystal Palace to proceedings. According to a report in the Italian printed press, via Sport Witness, both Premier League spurned the opportunity to sign Fiorentina gem Nicolo Fagioli over the summer, despite the 25-year-old being available for around just £21m.
Fagioli’s fine performances in Serie A so far this season have seen him recalled to Italy’s senior side, as they look to recovery from the humiliation of missing out on playing at three World Cups in a row. The deep-lying playmaker is renowned for his ability to set the tempo from midfield, and was on the books at Juventus for four years before joining his current club.
The 3AM Verdict: With Palace likely to lose star man Adam Wharton in the near future, a low-cost move for Fagioli could have worked a treat. Forest could also do with an injection of quality to run things in the middle of the park. Still, with the player’s contract expiring in 2028, he could yet seal a Premier League move in the not too distant future.
Chelsea decision could gift Liverpool midfield gem

Bringing us to a close, it’s off to Chelsea, where the Blues are still no doubt ruing their failure to sign an Enzo Fernandez replacement on Deadline Day. Caught Offside suggest that the Blues have no interest in reigniting a move for Monaco’s Lamine Camara, whose £48m switch to Stamford Bridge fell through at the last minute due to some utter chaos involving the Ligue 1 side and Everton.
In the story, it’s suggested the sour relations between Chelsea and Monaco - surely the Blues were already aggrieved after being duped into paying actual money for Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile? - mean the Blues will turn their attention elsewhere, with Bournemouth’s Alex Scott their “dream” target. This could now open the door for Liverpool, with Camara said to hold an asking price of around £60m.
The 3AM Verdict: The Reds missed out on both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo to Chelsea, and could really do with getting some revenge. Camara looks to be an excellent prospect who could thrive under Andoni Iraola, and £60m isn’t too hefty a fee given what midfielders seem to go for these days. Liverpool should grab this fine opportunity in January while they can.
