Legendary former San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has reportedly remarried.
According to TMZ, Popovich married Mary Barth Budenholzer, the ex-wife of his longtime former assistant coach Mike Budenholzer.
Popovich and Mary Barth Budenholzer exchanged wedding rings on September 16 in Texas, according to a marriage license filed in Bexar County.
For the 77-year-old Popovich, the marriage comes eight years after the death of his first wife, Erin Popovich, who passed away in 2018 following a battle with an undisclosed illness.
Mike and Mary Barth Budenholzer divorced in 2016.
TMZ adds that Popovich and Mary had already been seen together publicly before their marriage, attending Spurs games together during the 2025-26 season. Budenholzer, meanwhile, has also moved on and is currently in a new relationship.
Popovich and Budenholzer worked together with Spurs for 17 years
Mike Budenholzer joined the Spurs' coaching staff in 1996 and served as an assistant under Popovich for 17 years before leaving in 2013 to become head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.
During their time together in San Antonio, Popovich and Budenholzer won four NBA championships in 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007.
The Spurs went on to capture another championship in 2014, one year after Budenholzer's departure.
Budenholzer later won his first NBA championship as a head coach in 2021, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to the title.
