[Jesse Bisiwu joined Barcelona in the summer](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/jesse-bisiwu-opens-up-on-hansi-flick-talks-after-barcelona-signing-confirmed/) from Club Brugge, and while he has yet to make his debut for the first team, hopes are high for the Belgian winger, who will have chances to make his mark at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Barcelona tried to sign Bisiwu in January, but despite Club Brugge blocking their approaches at that time, they never gave up. They finally brought him to the club in July, and while he was involved with the senior squad in pre-season, he’s currently playing for Barca Atletic, although this demotion is something that the 18-year-old is comfortable with, as he told RTL Sports during an interview this week (via [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/jesse-bisiwu-plan-barca-cinco-134608869)).
**“The plan is a five-year plan. I think the club can help me develop. That’s why I came to Barcelona. The first time I heard that Barça came to see me I was very happy. It’s a dream club. I think Barça is not for everyone. Everyone has welcomed me very well, even the captains of the first team.”**
Bisiwu has represented Belgium throughout the early stages of his career, and he is currently with their u21s for the ongoing international break. He is also eligible for Ghana, whose Football Association has reportedly made moves to convince him to represent The Black Stars. Until now, their efforts have been in vain, although the player himself has admitted that he could be persuaded.
**“In the future you never know, but right now the focus is on the u21s and winning games.”**
It will be very interesting to see whether Bisiwu can break into the Barcelona first team over the course of the 2026-27 season. He does have a lot of confidence in the wing positions, but if he impresses for Barca Atletic, his chance will surely come.
