If anyone knows how to pick out a young talent headed for the top, it’s Harry Redknapp.

During his managerial career, Redknapp helped nurture talents such as Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale as youngsters, turning them into superstars as they grew in the game.

Redknapp has always had an eye for spotting what he would call a ‘terrific player’, and now, speaking on The Jeff Stelling Show, the former Tottenham manager has been speaking about Arsenal’s Max Dowman.

Dowman looks like a star in the making, and Redknapp has gone on the record to give his verdict on what the future may hold for the teenage sensation.

Harry Redknapp’s Max Dowman prediction

Redknapp made it very clear that he thinks Dowman is a player who is going to become a true star in the game.

Indeed, Redknapp said that Dowman is going to become a world beater in the future, while he claimed that he will be in the England squad by the time Euro 2028 rolls around.

“And then you got the kid coming through at Arsenal who’s going to be a world beater,’ Redknapp said.

“Oh my god he’s a real talent Jeff you know he really is a special player.

“I think he’s going to go I would think he’ll be in the Euros you I could see him getting in the squad for the Euros for sure.

However, Redknapp did warn that Dowman has a problem at Arsenal – where does he play in this team?

“I think in the next year he will get in.

“Where do you play at Arsenal? That’s the problem.

“They got so many good players but you know he plays at Ipswich last week gets two goals. I mean the kid’s just an amazing talent.”

Redknapp is right, as good as Dowman looks, there’s no clear space opening up in this Arsenal team for him.

Bukayo Saka is Arsenal’s main man down the right, while Martin Odegaard is the club captain in the number 10 role and he has rediscovered his best form.

Of course, time is on Dowman’s side at the age of just 16, but if he is indeed aiming for a place at the 2028 Euros, he may need to find a place for himself in the Arsenal starting XI.
