Enzo Maresca and Manchester City have continued their stellar start to the brand new 2026/27 season into September, maintaining a 100 per cent winning record across all competitions - amid the introduction of the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup.
In the Premier League, it was a further three wins for City to cement their place as the division's leaders heading into the first pause for international action of the new campaign, sitting in 1st place by a three-point margin above 2nd-placed Arsenal.
September got off to the perfect but challenging start, with Manchester City dismissing of newly-promoted Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium by a 1-0 scoreline courtesy of a solitary first-half goal from Erling Haaland.
Another single-goal victory would then follow albeit of greater magnitude, as a 10-man Manchester City side - due to Phil Foden's first-half red card - defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford thanks to Haaland once again in the second-half.
Rounding off a three-victory month for Manchester City was the most-recent win as Sunderland fell to defeat in a remarkable eight-goal thriller at the Etihad Stadium, with Enzo Maresca's side emerging 5-3 victors with goals from Enzo Fernandez, Rayan Cherki, Antoine Semenyo, and Erling Haaland.
Now, in light of those performances and results, the Premier League have recognised two members of Manchester City's first-team operation for nominations for their end-of-month awards.

The Seagulls have been recognised for the award after a 1-1 home draw to Leeds United, an impressive 0-5 win away to Coventry City, and most recently a commanding 3-0 win at home to the Premier League champions Arsenal.
As for Iraola and Liverpool, the Merseyside club have also recorded two wins and a draw after a 0-2 victory away at Ipswich Town, a 0-0 home draw with Fulham, and a 0-1 away victory against Bournemouth.
