Donnarumma shortlisted for Premier League Save of the Month
Gianluigi Donnarumma’s late stop against Manchester United is one of six on a shortlist for the Premier League Save of the Month award for September.
With City 1-0 up after more than an hour with 10 men at Old Trafford, our hosts created their best chance of the afternoon deep into added time.
Stepping into the box, United forward Bryan Mbeumo took one touch and hit a right-footed effort that the Italian parried wide with a strong right hand.
It all but sealed a crucial three points for Enzo Maresca’s side as we continued our 100% start to the league campaign, plus earned local bragging rights.
The clean sheet was one of two the Italian has kept in five league games so far this term, with our No.1 also shutting out Coventry the week prior.
