Washington Wizards big man Alex Sarr is expected to be ready for the start of the 2026-27 regular season as he continues his recovery from a fractured right foot, general manager Will Dawkins said.
Sarr will not be a full participant when training camp opens, with Dawkins saying the 21-year-old will begin as a "partial participant."
He underwent surgery in June to repair the fracture, which occurred during an offseason workout.
The French big man took a significant step forward in his second NBA season, as the former No. 2 overall pick averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 33.3% from deep.
However, his 2025-26 season ended early because of a left big toe issue, before he sustained the foot injury over the summer.
Sarr is entering his third NBA season with Washington, having already made 115 appearances for the Wizards.
