The Orlando Magic added another veteran to their training camp roster Wednesday, signing former NBA lottery pick Kevin Knox II ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Orlando announced the move as the organization prepares for media day Monday and the beginning of training camp Tuesday.
“The Orlando Magic have signed free-agent forward Kevin Knox II, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.”
Knox, 27, entered the NBA as the No. 9 overall selection by the New York Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-7 forward has since played seven seasons across several organizations, including the Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers and most recently the Golden State Warriors.
Knox last appeared in the NBA during the 2024-25 season with Golden State. He also appeared in five postseason games during the Warriors' playoff run, which ended with a second-round series loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Across 320 career regular-season games, including 77 starts, Knox has averaged 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game. He has shot 39.3% from the field and 34% from 3-point range.
Knox has also spent time developing in the NBA G League with Rip City, Santa Cruz and Windy City. Across 49 G League regular-season appearances, he averaged 23.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 34.1 minutes per game while shooting 40.8% from beyond the arc.

Knox's addition gives Orlando another experienced forward to evaluate as the team finalizes its roster under new head coach Sean Sweeney.
The Magic are entering a pivotal campaign after finishing 45-37 and earning the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference last season. Orlando held a 3-1 advantage over the Detroit Pistons in the opening round of the playoffs before dropping three consecutive games and suffering its third straight first-round exit.
Orlando also announced several corresponding roster moves Wednesday. The Magic waived Ace Baldwin Jr., Ricky Council IV, Jarron Cumberland and Au’Diese Toney after announcing their signings earlier in the day.
Those transactions leave the Magic with a 20-player roster heading into training camp, giving Knox an opportunity to compete for a spot as Orlando prepares for the 2026-27 season.
