Taylor Swift has been all over the sports landscape recently, attending the NBA Finals, Kansas City Chiefs games, scoring a goal for a club in the 10th tier of English football. Wait, what?
No, despite being good friends with the Mahomes family, who own the Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League, it wasn’t the popular singer with 272 million Instagram followers who scored a goal.
This Taylor Swift, who has only 201 followers on Instagram, is actually an English soccer player who recently signed with Widnes Town FC.
“You read that correctly, no typos here…Taylor Swift signs for Widnes Town,” the team wrote in an post announcing the signing on Monday, Sept. 21. “I’m sure this is the start of a great Love Story.”

Sadly, for all the Swifties out there, this Taylor Swift is wearing number 10. On the plus side, it didn’t take long for Taylor Swift to make his mark for Widnes Town, who play in the North West Counties Football League Division 1 South.
In his first match with the club, according to Yahoo Sports, he played all 90 minutes and scored a goal in minute “22” of the match, helping Widnes Town to salvage a 2-2 draw with New Mills.

Considering Widnes Town FC is currently in last place in the North West Counties Division One South after seven games, the team has been pretty “Down Bad,” so hopefully Taylor Swift can help them get “Out of the Woods.”
