49ers' Kyle Juszczyk hit with punishment from NFL for 'offensive demonstration' image
The NFL is living up to the moniker of the "No Fun League" with the punishment it has handed down to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Juszczyk has been fined $14,926 for "engaging in an offensive demonstration" against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.
What was that "offensive demonstration," you ask?
Juszczyk simulated chugging a beer after a play.
“Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the NFL wrote.
Schefter went on to add that Juszczyk has "celebrated touchdowns and first downs his entire NFL career in his own chugging way," yet he has never been fined until now.
And I don’t even drink beer!” he told Schefter.
What's funny is that Juszczyk's nickname is "Juice."
What makes this even funnier is the fact that the NFL has Bud Light as one of its major sponsors.
All fines collected by the NFL are "donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game," the league writes.
So, hey, at least the money is going to a good cause.
Since 2011, the league has collected around $4 million in fines per year for those causes.
A former fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, Juszczyk is in his 14th year in the league, and 10 of those years have been spent with the 49ers.
In that time, the fullback has become a fan-favorite, and safe to say this will only increase his popularity given how silly the fine is.
Juszczyk is one of the more decorated fullbacks in NFL history, with the 35-year-old notching a whopping 10 Pro Bowls during his career.
