Herbert became engaged to pop star Madison Beer in July. Former NFL safety T.J. Ward has now warned Herbert that his struggles on the field could eventually affect his relationship off the field.
In a recent episode of Speakeasy, T.J. Ward warned the quarterback, as he believes that continued underperformance might affect his relationship with Madison. He believes that Herbert needs to get back in the game and concentrate on improving.
“You get a girl. The little time, the extra time you spend on your craft, she’s demanding it,” Ward said. “As soon as you start having a lack of success, Justin, this girl, Beer, she’s using you, buddy.”
“She’s gonna be outta there,” Ward continued. “You see her at the game, got her lil chi chi’s all out. As soon as the camera gets on her, ‘Look, that’s Madison Beer, Justin Herbert’s girl.’ As soon as they stop pointing out who Justin Herbert is, I guarantee you, big dawg, I’m telling you cause I’m a player, I know this (expletive), she’s gonna be outta there.”

The couple previously went viral on social media during the preseason and training camp after cameras captured them sharing affectionate moments on the sideline. Their increasingly public relationship has attracted significant attention, particularly as Herbert continues to face pressure over the Chargers’ performances.
Ward framed his remarks as advice, but his claims about Beer’s intentions are entirely speculative. There is no public evidence that Herbert’s relationship is responsible for his poor start or that Beer would leave him because of his performances. The singer has regularly shown her support for Herbert and has attended several Chargers games.
Nevertheless, Herbert knows that criticism comes with being the face of an NFL franchise. The quickest way for him to silence the speculation will be to improve his performances and help the Chargers secure their first victory of the season.
