The San Francisco 49ers have some offensive injury worries. But they also have things that are going well. However, on the defensive side, the injuries keep piling up for Nick Bosa. He missed practice again, according to a post on X by Matt Barrows.
“An injury where the 49ers can least afford it: Nick Bosa missed Wednesday's practice with a “knee/resting player” designation. He missed Thursday's with a calf issue.”
Bosa, 28, is an eight-year NFL veteran. He played full seasons from 2021-23. However, he played in only 14 games in 2024 and three last year. In his career, he has 64.5 sacks. The 49ers are 2-0 as they play host to the Cardinals on Sunday.

He’s a five-time Pro Bowl performer. Bosa earned those honors in his first six NFL seasons. Clearly, he’s elite. You don’t have to tell 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris how good he is, according to mercurynews.com.
“He’s been the most dominant player without a sack,” Morris said. “He’s been awesome when he’s rushing the passer. The first play of the season was absolutely outstanding (with a hit on Matthew Stafford), and this past weekend, he chased around (Miami QB Malik) Willis.
“He just forgot how to sack people, I joked with him this weekend. Other than that, he’s been awesome. We’ll see what happens with him moving forward. But he’s been playing great.”
Bosa said the 49ers need to get better against the run, according to sfstandard.com.
“We let a few of those drives go a lot longer than we had hoped,” edge rusher Nick Bosa said. “That’s definitely the No. 1 get-better: stopping the run a little better.”
And head coach Kyle Shanahan said the defense has been OK so far.
“I thought they did some good things,” Shanahan said. “There’s certain plays we’d like to have back, but getting the four sacks — I definitely thought we could have had more, too. I thought they did a really good job. We had big goals of not letting that quarterback scramble up in the pocket, like through the B-gap and things like that, so I thought they caged him really well in the pass rush and made him escape backward, which was our goal.”
