LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) - More than 50 Green Bay Packers alumni were celebrated on the field at Lambeau Field, with some highlighting their accomplishments while wearing the green and gold.
The Packers have picked up fans from coast to coast and across the globe, in part because of the alumni who took the field at halftime, including several who won Super Bowls.
This year marks the 60th and 30th anniversaries of the Packers’ Super Bowl I and Super Bowl XXXI victories.
Alumni reflect on reunion

Antonio Freeman, a former Packers wide receiver and Super Bowl XXXI champion, said the reunion was meaningful for the players.
“It’s therapeutic when we can get back together,” Freeman said. “This has been 30 years since we’ve done something very special in all of our lives; this is our moment to be boys, be kids again, like we’re all back in that locker room, and let it all hang out.”
Freeman also said fans remember details from the team’s Super Bowl XXXI win.
“They remember Super Bowl 41 as if it was yesterday,” Freeman said. “They remember the 81-yard touchdown, they remember details about that, so it makes you feel like it wasn’t that long ago, but it really was.”
Fans travel from both coasts

Fans traveled to Thursday’s game from the East and West coasts to see Lambeau Field for the first time.
AJ Campanella, of New York, said seeing the former players brought history to life.
“I’m young, so I didn’t get to grow up in that time, but I’m seeing all these players, the Hall of Famers, the legends that made the team what it is, the green and gold,” Campanella said.
Steve Sanchez, of California, said the former players shaped the sport.
“They were the epitome of football; they made football what it is today,” Sanchez said. “They made it tough, they made it beautiful.”
Fans keep alumni connected to Green Bay

Leroy Butler, a former Packers safety and Super Bowl XXXI champion, said the fan support has kept him in the area.
“That’s the reason why we love our fans, and that’s why we come back to celebrate our fans,” Butler said. “I’m born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, but I live in Wisconsin because of great fans like this.”
The Packers’ next home game will be Oct. 11 against the Chicago Bears. The team will wear its new Rivalries uniforms for the game.
