Lambeau Field usually provides one of the most hostile environments for visiting teams in the NFL, but Thursday night felt remarkably different for the Green Bay Packers. Following a humiliating 35-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener, home fans showered the team with loud boos as the offense stalled out.
Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft did not hold back when asked about the crowd’s hostile reaction. Speaking to reporters after the game, Kraft made his feelings clear about hearing chorus after chorus of boos inside his own building. Beat reporter Matt Schneidman shared Kraft's candid response on X.
“That's pretty tough. Like everyone pictures Lambeau Field and not boos,” Kraft said. “It's pretty disappointing, especially for a home opener… It's not going to help us win. Like I don't know what people think that's going to rally us or something like that. But that's — we're grown men. We're mentally strong enough, capable enough to get back on the field and play ball. But it'd probably much easier with the 70,000 people behind us rather than opposing us.”
Kraft’s individual performance mirrored Green Bay’s overall frustration on offense. The fourth-year tight end caught four passes on the night but also suffered two frustrating drops while the offense struggled to find any rhythm. Quarterback Jordan Love completed 28 of 53 passes for 312 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while Green Bay's defense allowed Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson to explode for 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Falcons wide receiver Drake London also shredded Green Bay for 194 receiving yards on nine receptions. At 1-2, Green Bay faces serious questions on both sides of the ball. Kraft and his teammates know they must elevate their play quickly if they want to turn those Lambeau Field boos back into cheers.
