Germany boss Jurgen Klopp says Arsenal star Kai Havertz will have a scan to assess the severity of the injury he sustained in the Nations League draw with the Netherlands.

‌

The former Liverpool boss does not expect to have the Gunners star available for their clash with Greece at the weekend, while Jamal Musiala is also expected to miss the game.

‌

Speaking to reporters after the game, Klopp said: "Both will undergo scans tonight. They're probably out for us, but I hope they'll be back soon (for their clubs)."

‌

Havertz's involvement lasted just 30 minutes, when Quinten Timber - the sibling of Havertz's Arsenal colleague, Jurrien - collided with him in a mistimed challenge.

Havertz stayed down and received treatment from Germany's medical team before being replaced by Younes Ebnoutalib.

Arsenal will be hoping that Havertz has escaped a substantial injury. Not only did he contribute to Arsenal's Premier League success last season, he also netted in the Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Since his switch from Chelsea, Havertz has recorded 39 goals across 118 appearances in all competitions. The 27-year-old has furthermore scored 25 goals in 63 caps for his nation.

Klopp will equally be hoping that Havertz hasn't suffered a serious injury, though the former Liverpool boss has named an unusually expansive squad for the three-week international break, affording him multiple options.

Half of the squad is set to appear in the opening two fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece, while the remaining half will take on Serbia, plus a second meeting with Greece.

Explaining that approach, he said: "We've got a few guys here who will surprise you, but we see something in the guys and want to be there for their development. Lots of talent has caught our eye - so much that some aren't even included."

Havertz wasn't the sole Premier League forward left nursing a serious concern during Thursday's clash. Sunderland's Brian Brobbey was also involved in a collision with Jonathan Tah on the halfway line and immediately requested to be substituted.

Controversy flared up in the immediate aftermath of that incident, with Germany appearing willing to pause proceedings to allow Brobbey to receive treatment.

With play interrupted, the visiting side then carved through the Netherlands' backline and struck their first goal through Felix Nmecha, which ignited a fiery confrontation between both groups of players.
