Jesse Bisiwu has told Hansi Flick “he’s ready” for whenever he’s needed at Barcelona as he eyes a senior debut for his new club.
The youngster arrived in the summer and caught the eye in pre-season with some impressive goals in a friendly against FC Basel.
Bisiwu is yet to make his senior competitive debut for Barcelona but says he’s ready to go whenever Flick decides he’s needed.
“I’m here to be the next one on the list. I’m going to give everything to achieve that. It’s a great pleasure to be here. My role this season is very simple: to work incredibly hard. I’ll do everything the coach asks of me. And if he needs me, I’ll be ready,” he told RTBF.
Bisiwu also spoke about how he’s settling in at Barcelona and how Neymar was his favorite player growing up.
“I like having the ball at my feet and I love duels. My favorite player is Neymar, ever since I was little. It’s thanks to him that I started playing football. I love his style of play,” he added.
“And at Barcelona, in my position, I like Raphinha , a very good player. And another Brazilian, yes (laughs). I like the Brazilian style. I’ve already spoken with him several times.”
Bisiwu is currently with the Belgium Under-21 squad for Euro qualifiers against Belarus, Wales and Denmark.
