Thomas Tuchel has stated Cole Palmer "misses too many opportunities" due to injuries after the Chelsea attacker pulled out of the latest England squad.
Sources say that the 24-year-old suffered a muscular problem and the decision to pull him out of the Three Lions squad for their upcoming Nations League matches was confirmed earlier in the week.
Since Tuchel 's appointment as England boss at the beginning of 2025, Palmer has only featured for his national team three times. The Chelsea attacker was left out of the World Cup squad over the summer due to a disappointing 2025/26 campaign that was dominated by a persistent groin injury.

Tuchel selected him for England's latest camp and is disappointed Palmer pulled out of the squad due to another muscular issue.
Speaking ahead of England's Nations League clash with Spain, the former Chelsea head coach said: "He misses too many opportunities, he misses way too many camps with injuries. It's not his fault."
He added: "I can only judge what I witness in my team. For that you have to be in camp.
"If you are not in camp, there is a next level you cannot achieve unless you do it in my team."
Palmer has started the season in brilliant fashion for Chelsea under Xabi Alonso. The former Manchester City attacker has four goals and two assists to his name in seven matches across all competitions for the Blues.

Alonso has been delighted with Palmer's start but said earlier this month that there is still more to come from the Englishman.
"I think there's more to come," explained Alonso on Palmer. "We can expect more from Cole.
"I am very happy with Cole. The way he has prepared since the first day of pre-season, he has been there, he has shown the desire to enjoy his game.
"I think what he wants is to enjoy his game, to have this good feeling on the pitch, this connection with players around him. If he gets that, the rest will come.
"England will come, more winning games will come, that will come naturally because he's a top, top-level player. That's the main thing for him - to feel good."
