The Houston Texans will be facing the Indianapolis Colts this week, and they'll be without one of their key receivers once again. Nico Collins suffered a hamstring injury after Week 1, and it looks like he'll still be recovering.
“Texans have ruled out WR Nico Collins for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis due to his hamstring injury,” ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Collins didn't practice this week for the Texans, and it was obvious that he probably wasn't going to play. When he initially received the diagnosis last week, there was always a chance that he was going to miss a couple of weeks. The Texans want to be careful with Collins, mostly because hamstring injuries should be taken seriously, but he's also their top receiver.
Collins has dealt with injuries throughout his career, but when he's on the field, the Texans are a better team. That showed after their recent loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, where they only scored six points.
On the other hand, they were able to score 31 points in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills when Collins was on the field, even though they lost.
The Texans want to find some consistency soon in their offense, and it will be up to the other playmakers for now. Collins should be either back next week or soon after, and the hope is that the Texans get in the win column before he comes back.
After they face the Colts, they have the Dallas Cowboys and then the Tennessee Titans.
