Skip Bayless Calls Out Packers' 'Pathetic' Performance on Thursday Night Football 1
Skip Bayless did not hold back after the Green Bay Packers suffered a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. The defeat exposed several issues for Green Bay, with the offense struggling to generate momentum during a frustrating home performance.
The Packers entered the matchup with an opportunity to strengthen their start to the season, but Atlanta controlled much of the game and eventually secured a 27-17 victory. Green Bay struggled to maintain consistency on offense, while the Falcons capitalized on mistakes and repeatedly put pressure on the Packers’ quarterback.

Jordan Love endured a difficult night as Atlanta’s defense disrupted the passing game and forced him into uncomfortable situations. He completed 22 of 36 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw an interception and was sacked four times as the Packers struggled to establish rhythm.
Green Bay’s problems extended beyond its quarterback, however. The Packers had difficulty protecting Love, moving the football consistently and creating enough explosive plays, while Atlanta’s defensive pressure repeatedly put the offense behind schedule and limited opportunities for the home team to build sustained drives.

Bayless shared his thoughts about Green Bay’s loss to the Falcons in Week 2. This can be seen in a post he made on his official X account.
Man, I didn’t see THAT coming for the Packers. On Gridiron, I did pick them to finish last in their division. But that was just pathetic. Obviously, Atl had Bijan and GB does not have Josh Jacobs. But still … 498 yards to 328???

The result was particularly disappointing considering the expectations surrounding Green Bay entering the season. Instead of controlling the game at home, the Packers found themselves chasing Atlanta for much of the night, raising questions about the offense’s ability to respond when opponents successfully disrupt its preferred approach.
The loss gives Green Bay plenty to address as it moves forward, particularly after an offensive performance that fell well short of expectations. With the season still young, the Packers have time to correct their issues, but Thursday night’s showing provided a reminder that their margin for error will remain small when the offense cannot protect Love or consistently sustain drives.
