Chelsea signed young winger Geovany Quenda last season but left him in Portugal to continue his development so he can return to West London as a more complete player.
The Blues brought him back to Stamford Bridge this summer, but unfortunately, he has struggled to get a look-in under new boss Xabi Alonso.
However, the Chelsea star reminded the Spaniard that he is a capable weapon. Called up by the Portugal Under-21 side, he played a starring role in their 2-1 loss to Bulgaria.
Quenda was electric throughout the game, lining up on the left wing. He constantly offered himself as an option and stayed positive.
The 19-year-old Chelsea wideman was a thorn in their flesh and almost had a chance to score himself after nutmegging a defender but pulled his effort just wide.

Alonso really needs to give more minutes to the youngster, considering Pedro Neto has been absolutely dreadful in recent games and should be dropped.
Chelsea should have sold the 26-year-old Neto during the now-closed transfer window, but instead offered him a new deal despite his awful performances.
There has been a lot of clamour for Alonso to give Estevao Willian more minutes, but Quenda delivered a performance to remind the Chelsea boss of his immense quality.
It also helps that Quenda has bundles of experience playing as a wing-back on both sides of the defence. Bringing his fresh energy could do the Blues a world of good.
He can’t do worse than Neto and Malo Gusto have done in recent weeks. Alonso should give him a chance to prove his mettle in a Chelsea shirt.
There may be doubts about how he’d fit in as one of the inside 10s in the 3-4-2-1 set-up, but with his qualities, he can thrive in one of the wing-back roles.
