Star attacker from upcoming Leeds United opponents suffers injury blow and leaves international …

An attacking star from Leeds United’s next opponents Arsenal has suffered an injury blow and left his country’s international camp for assessment.

Germany international forward Kai Havertz has started all five of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season, the 27-year-old scoring in the victories against Coventry City and Chelsea.

Havertz was then named in new Germany boss Jurgen Klopp’s first squad for the four Nations League games during the extended September and October international break, starting with Thursday’s game in the Netherlands.

Havertz started the contest upfront but the Gunners star was forced off injured after just 30 minutes and The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that the striker is now returning to Arsenal for a scan on a hamstring injury.

Taking to social media platform X, Ornstein wrote: “Kai Havertz to leave Germany national team camp after suffering hamstring injury in 1st half of Nations League draw vs Netherlands. Optimism issue sustained by 27yo Arsenal forward not serious but returning to #AFC for assessment/recovery.”
