Liverpool Plan To ‘Submit Offer’ For Argentinian International In January As Surprise Midfield Target Emerges

Liverpool are showing “concrete interest” in Boca Juniors midfielder Tomas Aranda, according to reports in the Argentinian media.
El Intransigente claim that the Reds are likely to “submit an offer” for the 19-year-old “at the beginning of 2027”, which suggests they want to secure his services in January.
Aranda has only made 32 first-team appearances, but he has already been capped by Argentina at senior level.
The teenager made his international debut as a substitute in a World Cup warm-up friendly against Honduras in early June.
Liverpool will have competition from other clubs
It is believed that there are at least five other European teams monitoring Aranda’s progress, and that may be why the Merseysiders are so keen to get a deal in place as soon as possible.
Inter Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Como are also said to be tracking the Argentinian, who is seen as one of the most promising young players coming through the ranks of the South American country.
Boca are very reluctant to lose Aranda, and El Intransigente report that Juan Roman Riquelme’s team “will demand a high figure” from any club who decide to table a formal bid. They are even exploring whether they can increase his release clause to ensure he leaves for a sizeable fee.

Aranda is injured
The midfielder recently fractured his tibia in training, and he underwent an operation, which means he won’t be back in action until the turn of the year.
It is, therefore, all the more surprising that Julian Ward wants to make Aranda his first signing in his second stint as sporting director.
Fans are keen for the club to reinforce their options in midfield, but it appears they won’t be pursuing the likes of Monaco’s Lamine Camara or Roma’s Manu Kone if Aranda is indeed the priority.
