Giants linked to trades for Titans, Steelers QBs as Jameis Winston insurance image
Jaxson Dart, during the New York Giants' Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, sustained a brutal season-ending knee injury. While it wasn't an ACL injury, pretty much everything else was injured.
With Dart out for the rest of the year, Jameis Winston, who signed a two-year extension this offseason, will be the team's starting quarterback. But he's not likely to be the only option the Giants consider at QB this year.
The trade rumors have started up, and according to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic, the Giants have been linked by an NFL insider to two QBs as insurance for Winston. One is from the Pittsburgh Steelers, another from the Tennessee Titans.

"One league source pointed to Titans QB Mitchell Trubisky and Steelers QB Mason Rudolph as potential mid-tier options down the road," Jones shared.
The Giants are going to be relying on Winston as their starter for now, and hopefully, they don't need to make a trade for anyone to improve the QB play this season.
As long as Winston isn't horrible, the Giants might keep him as the starter, without really considering a veteran trade pickup this season.
But if he were to struggle, then they could consider Trubisky and Rudolph as options to fill in for Winston this season.

Trubisky is a former Pro Bowler who has 13,028 passing yards and 78 touchdowns in his career, with 48 interceptions and a 64.4% completion percentage. He's been in mop-up duty only the last few seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
Now with the Titans, they might be open to moving on from him to recoup some draft pick value with Cam Ward entrenched as the starter.
The same can be said for Rudolph with the Steelers. He has a 64.3% completion percentage with 4,925 yards and 30 touchdowns with 22 interceptions in his career, mostly with the Steelers.
With Aaron Rodgers as the starter, and young backups in Drew Allar and Will Howard also on the depth chart, trading Rudolph would make a lot of sense for the Steelers.
If the Giants want someone who can start a few games down the stretch, or at least give the team a better backup option after Dart's injury forced Winston up the depth chart, then Rudolph or Trubisky would make a lot of sense this season.
