‘Not For Sale’ ‘Zero Chance’ Fans Dismiss Claims That Chelsea Could Raid Man City In January

Chelsea are reportedly contemplating a potential move for Man City centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov.
There have been some claims made by less-than-reliable sources that the Uzbek international could be targeted by the Blues during the January transfer window.

Khusanov has been dropped
The 22-year-old started Enzo Maresca’s first three league matches in charge, and the Cityzens only conceded two goals in those fixtures.
However, Khusanov was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Manchester United and the 5-3 win over Sunderland.
It might not be a coincidence that speculation about his future has arisen after he was benched by Maresca. However, it is far too early to suggest that he has fallen out of favour under the Italian.
If anything, the 3 goals that were conceded against Sunderland may prompt Maresca to reinstate Khusanov to the starting eleven after the international break.

Khusanov needs to find his role at Man City
The Uzbek’s speed means that he can play as a fullback, but you do feel that his best performances for the club came in the second half of last season when Pep Guardiola partnered him with Marc Guehi in the middle of defence.
Maresca has so far favoured Ruben Dias alongside Guehi, but after the display against the Black Cats, he may well rethink his selection choices ahead of a massive fixture against Liverpool at Anfield next month.
Khusanov will be determined to prove his worth to Maresca, and we shall see whether he can re-establish himself after the international break.
