Bills news: What to know ahead of Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

**Opening:** We’re only on Week 3 and this post is already hitting its mid-season stride. Hope it doesn’t hit a mid-season slump…Quickly looking back, last week was the stadium opener celebration as the Lions stepped in to gloriously take the L. Before the Bare Naked Ladies stepped back into their dressing room, the Bills had already scored 3 TDs on their way to an impressive 41-31 victory (that wasn’t even that close, IMO). I’m sure there’s an inappropriate joke or two about the band’s name, but I’ll spare you all this time. Instead, I’ll make a slightly more appropriate joke about this week’s arrival to the Wall of Winners,  DigitalDreamer, who nailed this season’s first **Exacto!** Congratulations, Digital! Whether you’re in the digital world or the real world (which may be just a digital simulation (going full _Inception_ here (a poster for another day, perhaps (how many parentheticals within parentheticals can this guy use? (I’m sure they’re not grammatically correct or appropriate))))), may all your dreams of Bills dominance this season come true.

**Week Three, Chargers at Bills:** The Bills offense is humming. The Bills defense is sorta humming sometimes. The Chargers are limping into Highmark stadium hoping to trap some Buffalo and stealing a win amid their brutal first half schedule. Let’s hope their voltage continues to run on milliamperes -that indicates an extremely low-current system.

**Bills 44, Chargers 24:** After taking a bite of a 40-burger last week, the Bills want another one, and really is there any stopping JA17 and this offense this year?  The Defense reveals that it has a few kinks to work out…but there’s also marked improvement. We grab our first interception for the season, taking it in for a score. Josh is Josh. James is Jimbo and Keon is prime Keenan Allen.

**The Shiv:** Week Three. Buffalo welcomes in a Chargers team that is reeling from dirty losses to two teams that just frankly aren’t good. Backs to the wall for the away team this week as falling to 0/3 and playing the absolute crazy schedule, they have coming up could push this season into the red sooner than anticipated. However, I have hunted since I was very small. I have seen how hard a corned animal will fight. I’m not ready to write off a team that has gone 11/6 the last two years just yet.

Offense**: keep doing what you are doing**. Buffalo, so far, has had a huge mixed bag of attacks that not even the Texans vaunted defense could find an answer to. The Chargers have faced Love and Jeanty the last two weeks. What they haven’t faced is the Top Five Oline. I expect **James Cook** to **have a big game**. Especially with the Chargers being down interior starter Dalvin Tomlinson. **Don’t turn the ball over** and Buffalo should score well into the 30’s.

Defense: the Chargers boast a pair of great tackles on the Oline. Unfortunately for them, the interior Oline is soft. I expect **Walker and Ed** (if healthy) **to feast**. If we can **shut down the run game and pin our ears back**, it’s going to be a long day for Madison Beers beau. The Chargers are down to one TE due to injury. The receivers are banged up. Hopefully the Bills secondary used this mini-bye week to address any comms problems they were having.  **Get two turnovers and I like the chances of a victory**.

**Bills 37 chargers 20**

The Chargers come out hot but slow down once the Bills defense gets its footing. Bills offense stays hot and runs the ball more than normal but still puts points on the board. In the end, injuries and travel from the west to east catch up and Buffalo pulls away indefinitely.

As always, our QB is 17x better than theirs. **Go Bills.**

**Hype Poster:** He’ll take that martini shaken, not stirred while leaving room for another 40-burger. Sure, we all marvel at his arm cannon at times, but more often people are realizing what a terrific eye he has for the game, breaking down defenses, and seeing a receiver come free before he does.  His eye for the game is not just good, it’s golden. Joining him for this adventure is Conner McGovern with his delicious, bad guy ‘stache and Dewayne Carter who is quietly having a solid start to the season while Buffalo Joe looks to chase down another kick returner and deliver a devastating hit. Of course, Hailee Steinfeld shimmers and stars as the Bond-girl—she can even belt out the “Josh” Bond song for this one. There should be plenty of explosions and fireworks Sunday afternoon.

**Closing:** We had a lot of fantastic guesses last week, with more than one person guessing the correct losing score (for the last two weeks) and multiple people guessing the correct winner’s score. But only one exacto. My strategy this year is to always guess a result that’s realistic (to me) and also a Scorigami. Probably not the best strategy, but it keeps things interesting. Whatever your strategy is, good luck and **_happy prognosticating!_**

**Wall of Winners:**

Week 1: Buffal-Oblivious

Week 2: DigitalDreamer
