Buffalo unveiled its new “Nickel City” alternate uniforms on Monday, but the predominantly gray design quickly drew backlash from fans on X who compared the kit to a Pepsi can.
Buffalo Bills’ New Uniform Shock Football Fans
The kit features grey jerseys with blue numbers and accents. It has shiny blue helmets with red and white stripes. Bills director of design Aaron La Porta said gray was a secondary base color the team had never used before. He believes that the design pays tribute to Western New York’s hard-working people. However, fans on X were not convinced.

“Please Chargers win , those uniforms hurt to watch,” one fan reacted.
“We gonna beat thier [] looking like a Pepsi can,” another commented.

“These are horrific,” one reacted.
“Grotesque,” one wrote.
“These things are trash,” another wrote.
The Bills enter the game averaging 38.5 points per game (first in the NFL) and 427.5 yards per game (second). The Chargers rank 30th in scoring at 14 points per game as quarterback Justin Herbert works to overcome early-season decision-making struggles.
