Packers Could Catch Massive Break Next Week in Must-Win Scenario 1
The Green Bay Packers are still fresh off of their brutal Thursday Night Football blowout loss against the Atlanta Falcons. Nothing went right for the team and they dropped to 1-2 on the young season.
So far, all three games have been a bad look for Matt LaFleur and company. Even in the Week 2 win over the New York Jets, the Packers looked like a bad football team.
Next week, Green Bay will make another road trip. The Packers are scheduled to face off against the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. Even though it will only be Week 4, it will be a must-win game for Green Bay.
Dropping to 1-3 would be very difficult for the team to recover from. Past that, the Packers badly need a win to quiet down the outside noise.
With that being said, Green Bay could catch a massive break in next week’s game.

Green Bay Packers Could Receive Major Help Against the Buccaneers
In Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings, the Buccaneers saw star quarterback Baker Mayfield go down with a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand. Unfortunately, the expectation is that he will miss some time. That would mean the Packers will catch Tampa Bay without Mayfield on the field.
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman noted that fact in a post on X.
“Packers will probably face Bucs QB2 Jalon Daniels on Sunday. He’s an undrafted rookie,” he wrote.
Daniels played six seasons of college football at Kansas. He has yet to take an NFL snap. During the 2025 season with the Jayhawks, he completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 2,531 yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while also running for 404 yards and four scores.
Just because Green Bay may not have to play Mayfield doesn’t mean the game will be an easy win. Daniels should not be overlooked either. His dual-threat ability could become problematic for the Packers’ defense.
Only time will tell whether or not Green Bay can take care of business. Tampa Bay could still make another quarterback move, but Daniels is the expected starter right now if Mayfield can’t play. Kickoff is scheduled for next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET on Fox.
