Pedro Neto continued his productive international break by registering an assist as Portugal beat Norway 2-1 in Oslo.
The Chelsea winger started for Jorge Jesus’ side and created the opening goal after just 16 minutes.
Neto drove down the left before finding former Chelsea forward João Félix on the edge of the penalty area, with Félix finishing to put Portugal ahead.
Chelsea confirmed that Neto played 87 minutes before being replaced by Bernardo Silva.
Erling Haaland equalised shortly after half-time, but Gonçalo Ramos restored Portugal’s advantage following an error from Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland.
Pedro Neto builds on strong Portugal start
Neto also started Portugal’s 1-0 victory over Wales earlier in the break.
ReadChelsea previously looked at the more attacking role Neto has been given by Portugal, having frequently operated at wing-back for Xabi Alonso this season.
His assist against Norway provides another example of what he can offer when deployed higher up the pitch.
The 26-year-old’s international minutes are also being followed in our Chelsea international break tracker.
Portugal have now won their opening two Nations League matches and return to action against Denmark on Thursday, 1 October.
Neto will then hope to carry his international momentum back to Stamford Bridge when Chelsea resume their Premier League campaign.
