‘Phew. Thank God There Is Hope’ ‘I Hate Internationals!!!’ Arsenal Fans React To Injury Update

Arsenal are “optimistic” that forward Kai Havertz has not picked up a serious injury, according to The Athletic reporter David Ornstein.

The 27-year-old was forced off in the first half during Germany’s Nations League match against the Netherlands following a tackle from Quinten Timber.

Havertz sustained an injury to his left hamstring, and there were concerns he could be sidelined for a lengthy period, but Ornstein’s update has eased fears among some fans on X:

Phew thank God there is hope.

International break delivering its usual gift. Fingers crossed this is nothing, Havertz has been too important lately to lose right now.

There are 2 weeks before Arsenal play their next game

If it is a minor hamstring strain, then there is a small chance that Havertz could make the squad for the clash against Leeds on October 10th.

Even so, you wouldn’t expect him to be named in the starting lineup, which means Viktor Gyokeres would most likely get the nod to lead the line.

The Swedish international has fallen out of favour since the beginning of the season, but he will be looking to take advantage of Havertz’s absence.

Other Arsenal injury news

Jurrien Timber did not play for the Netherlands against Germany. His fitness is still being managed as he tries to avoid another setback.

The fullback underwent surgery on a groin problem in the summer, but it is clearly still a cause of concern.

Timber started the 3-0 defeat to Brighton last weekend, and lasted an hour before he was replaced at the Amex. It was his first start for the Gunners since March.

Declan Rice pulled out of international duty with a hamstring injury, while Ben White was not called up by England either due to a groin issue he picked up in the first half against Sunderland earlier this month.

Cristhian Mosquera (muscular), meanwhile, is set to make his comeback after the international break, but William Saliba is not expected to return before December.
