My Week 4 fantasy football rankings start with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II and Ravens running back Derrick Henry on top, but a plethora of injuries from Week 3 will likely impact lineup decisions for managers.
These rankings are published early in the week, so please treat them as a rough draft. Monday night’s Eagles at Bears game hasn’t been played yet, and injury news will keep coming all week. The Week 4 rankings can be found at the bottom of the article below.

Fantasy football Week 4 outlook

Detroit has allowed an NFL-high 299.3 passing yards and 31.7 points per game, which sets up Carolina’s passing game. The Panthers, in turn, have allowed a league-high 193.3 rushing yards per game. Seattle remains the toughest pass defense at 141.7 passing yards per game.
Justin Jefferson (ankle), De’Von Achane (knee), Baker Mayfield (thumb), Breece Hall (thigh) and Mike Evans (ribs) all need monitoring. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said Jefferson “got close a couple of times” to returning, while Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said Achane’s injury “doesn’t sound very optimistic.”

Week 4 quarterback outlook

Mahomes sits at QB1 at Las Vegas after completing 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns at Miami. Trevor Lawrence ranks second at Cincinnati after three touchdown passes against New England, and the Bengals have allowed 260 passing yards per game.
Dak Prescott is QB3 at Houston, while Jalen Hurts ranks fourth but still plays Monday night. Bryce Young is QB5 against Detroit after throwing 48 passes for 291 yards in Cleveland, but top receiver Jalen Coker left that game with a quad injury.
Josh Allen drops to QB6 because the Patriots have allowed only 170 passing yards and 17 points per game. He’s also dealing with an injury and we’ll learn more about that soon. Jared Goff (QB7) averaged 8.4 yards per pass attempt against the Jets, while Lamar Jackson (QB8) threw two touchdowns against Dallas. Drake Maye is QB9 at Buffalo despite one touchdown pass and six interceptions, because the Patriots should have to throw often to keep up.

Week 4 running back outlook

Henry leads the running backs against a Tennessee defense allowing 126.3 rushing yards per game. Kenneth Walker III is RB2 at Las Vegas with 360 rushing yards through three games. Ashton Jeanty (RB3) gained only 56 yards on 19 carries at New Orleans, but his workload keeps him high.
James Cook III (RB4) has 289 rushing yards over his last two games. D’Andre Swift ranks fifth against the Jets, and Jeremiyah Love jumped to RB6 at the Giants after he out-touched Tyler Allgeier 26 to 6.
Kyren Williams (RB7) totaled 158 scrimmage yards in Denver, while Saquon Barkley (RB10) still plays Monday night. Bucky Irving (RB9) gets a Green Bay defense allowing 138.7 rushing yards per game. Jahmyr Gibbs (RB11) scored three touchdowns against the Jets and now faces the league’s worst run defense. Bijan Robinson (RB13) ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns at Green Bay before a Monday night trip to New Orleans.
Jonathan Taylor (RB16) has a tough matchup because Washington has allowed only 82 rushing yards per game. David Montgomery (RB17) has the opposite setup against a Dallas defense allowing 179.7 rushing yards per game.

Week 4 wide receiver outlook

Ja’Marr Chase holds WR1 against Jacksonville, followed by George Pickens at Houston. Tee Higgins (WR13) added 90 yards and a score at Pittsburgh. Garrett Wilson ranks third at Chicago after catching 10 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, and he was cleared after a concussion evaluation.
Tetairoa McMillan is WR4 against Detroit, and Coker’s injury could send more targets his way. Davante Adams (WR5) caught seven passes for 137 yards with Puka Nacua (WR42) out again.
Parker Washington (WR7) has 15 catches for 221 yards and two touchdowns through three games. Drake London (WR10) posted a career-high 194 yards at Green Bay. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR11) joined Jerry Rice as the only players with at least 120 receiving yards and a touchdown in each of their team’s first three games.
Chris Olave (WR15) faces an Atlanta defense allowing 263 passing yards but only 47.7 rushing yards per game. Jefferson falls to WR45, while Jordan Addison sits at WR40.

Week 4 tight end outlook

Travis Kelce leads the tight ends at Las Vegas after a 48-yard catch and an 11-yard touchdown at Miami. Trey McBride (TE2) caught nine passes for 75 yards, and Sam LaPorta (TE3) gets a Carolina defense allowing 27.7 points per game. Dalton Schultz (TE4) hosts a Dallas defense allowing 27.3 points per game.
Juwan Johnson (TE6) caught two touchdowns against the Raiders. Brock Bowers is TE8 after catching 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in his debut, but Kansas City has allowed only 178.3 passing yards per game. Harold Fannin Jr. (TE11) caught two touchdowns against Carolina.
Week 4 kicker outlook
Eddy Pineiro is K1 because San Francisco is scoring 32.7 points per game. Tyler Loop (K2) won Week 3 with a 56-yard field goal as time expired. Spencer Shrader (K3) hit the 53-yard game-winner against Houston but tweaked his groin, so his practice status matters. Brandon Aubrey (K9) hit a 23-yard kick to tie Baltimore late.
Week 4 DST outlook
Buffalo leads the rankings because Maye has seven turnovers and the Patriots average 12 points per game. Pittsburgh ranks second at Cleveland, which scores 18 points per game, and Minnesota is third against a Miami offense averaging 12 points.
Cleveland is fourth after it pressured Young on 51% of his dropbacks. New Orleans ranks fifth against an Atlanta offense averaging 17 points per game. Baltimore follows against a Tennessee offense averaging 12.3 points per game.
