Carson Vinson played all 64 snaps in his first start at left tackle, as did four of the other five starters. Injuries at center late in the game threw a wrench into the equation. Jovaughn Gwyn left the game after 46 snaps and Ethan Pocic suffered a knee injury following just 10 plays. That forced Vega Ioane to play center for the last handful of offensive plays, which saw Andrew Vorhees plug in at right guard. Emery Jones Jr. also took three snaps.
Derrick Henry more than doubled Justice Hill’s snap count (43 to 21) and took a heavy workload with 26 carries. Hill had his most effective game of the year with 33 yards on five carries. At tight end, Durham Smythe had the most snaps with 34 after Mark Andrews was sidelined mid-game with a hand injury. Andrews returned and finished with 33 snaps. Rookies Matthew Hibner and Josh Cuevas each played their highest snap counts of the year and had three combined catches. Hibner caught the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Zay Flowers was limited to 21 snaps in his return from injury and still easily led the team in receiving with five catches for 84 yards. Flowers also had 20 rushing yards and fell just a couple yards away from scoring. Rashod Bateman played 56 snaps with two catches, and Chris Moore retained a surprisingly big offensive role (33 snaps). Moore continues to play a lot more than Devontez Walker, who took 17 offensive reps.

Nnamdi Madubuike made his long-awaited return to action and was not limited in playing time. Madubuike led all defensive linemen with 47 snaps. Calais Campbell’s 32 snaps saw him lead the team in quarterback hits with three in his most impactful game of the year so far. Aeneas Peebles was a healthy scratch instead of Broderick Washington and John Jenkins, who combined to play 38 snaps.
Tavius Robinson again paced the edge rusher room (58 snaps), followed by Trey Hendrickson at 45 snaps. Zion Young’s snap count increased again and he out-snapped Mike Green 26 to 22. At inside linebacker, Roquan Smith played every defensive snap, the only defender in the game to do so. Teddye Buchanan’s return from injury saw him on the field for only three plays. Trenton Simpson played 46 snaps and doesn’t appear at risk to losing his starting role.
In the secondary, Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey were not on the field for nearly every play again. Chidobe Awuzie played a season-high 15 snaps, as did Chandler Rivers with 32 snaps. Rivers seemingly has a strong hold on the nickel cornerback spot over Keyon Martin now for the second straight week. Kyle Hamilton exited the game for a few plays after suffering an injury but quickly returned. Malaki Starks retained a near every-down role with 73 snaps and Jaylinn Hawkins saw his snap share decrease slightly but still played 61 snaps.
