Dolphins get terrible season-ending De'Von Achane injury news image
The Miami Dolphins were always going to be in a rebuild year in 2026, but that doesn't mean they didn't want to see their young players and core players phone it in this year.
Seeing how Malik Willis fared is important, and De'Von Achane's production out of the backfield was going to be huge for this team. Unfortunately, that's no longer going to be the case after his injury in Week 3.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Achane has suffered a torn ACL, forcing the Dolphins' speedy running back to miss the rest of the 2026 season.
De'Von Achane suffers season-ending ACL injury
"Dolphins star RB De'Von Achane suffered a torn ACL, sources tell me and @AdamSchefter, and he's out for the season," Rapoport reports.
With Tyreek Hill a free agent after an offseason release and Jaylen Waddle with the Denver Broncos after a blockbuster trade, Achane was supposed to be the main weapon on offense for the Dolphins this year.
Through three weeks, Achane had 34 rushes for 127 yards and no touchdowns, with seven receptions on 12 targets for just 49 yards.
It was a quiet start to the year for Achane, and now with this torn ACL injury report, that's where his 2026 season numbers will finish.

This is a brutal blow for the Dolphins and Achane, as their best offensive weapon is now out for the entire 2026 season. In his absence, the Dolphins will have a few options to turn to.
Ollie Gordon II and Jaylen Wright are the next running backs in line for the Dolphins, and they're sure to add at least one more depth option in the next few days.
Gordon ran the ball 17 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Wright has been banged up and was out for the Week 3 matchup.
In Achane's absence, this will likely be a split backfield, but Gordon is looking more likely to be the lead back going forward.
This is some terrible news for Achane and the Dolphins, as this season-ending injury report confirmed the worst fears for the Dolphins.
