Ravens make all sorts of NFL history with improbable last-second win over Cowboys image

The Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys played one of the wildest games of the 2026 season in Week 3 down in Brazil. The Cowboys, with 10 seconds on the clock, kicked a game-tying field goal to make it 31-31.
But, in a miraculous turn of events, the Ravens somehow were able to drive the ball far enough down the field to get in field goal range after a touchback. They then kicked the game-winning field goal despite having just seven seconds to move nearly 30 yards.
This improbable win over the Cowboys made all sorts of NFL history for the Ravens. As ESPN's Ben Solak pointed out, Tyler Loop's field goal accomplished two wild feats of NFL history never seen before.

"Per ESPN Research: Ravens v. Cowboys was the first game in the Super Bowl era in which both teams kicked a field goal in the last 10 seconds of the fourth quarter," Solak shared.
That's quite an impressive feat for the Ravens and Cowboys to set together. Brandon Aubrey kicked the game-tying field goal with 10 seconds on the clock, burning three seconds to leave Baltimore with just seven seconds.
After a touchback and a 27-yard pass to Zay Flowers from Lamar Jackson over the middle of the field, with a last-second timeout from Jackson to give Loop a chance, the Ravens' kicker drilled the 56-yard field goal to win the game in regulation.

That Cowboys game-tying FG and Loop's game-winning FG all happened in the last 10 seconds of game time. Not once in NFL history has that ever happened before. But that's not all.
Solak also shared that "The Ravens' game-winning drive started with 0:07 on the clock -- the latest a game-winning drive has ever started (after a kickoff) in the ESPN database (since 1978). That was the quickest game-winning drive ever."
Baltimore's game-winning field goal drive is the fastest the NFL has maybe ever seen to win a game. There have been some very fast game-winning drives in NFL history, but none can compare to the ridiculousness of this one from the Ravens.
This wild game-winner from Loop made a few kinds of NFL history that have never been seen before. For such a crazy sequence, it shouldn't be a surprise that this has never happened before.
