Arsenal
Kai Havertz went back to Arsenal for further examinations due to a muscle problem sustained while on international duty with Germany. The attacker was forced off after only 30 minutes as Germany drew the Netherlands 1-1 in the Nations League**,** raising fresh concerns over his fitness, as per latest injury news.
Kai Havertz leaves Germany camp after injury
Havertz went down following Quinten Timber’s challenge. The 27-year-old was unable to continue and was replaced by Younes Ebnoutalib. As reported by Sky Sports, the problem is diagnosed as a slight muscle strain. Arsenal are now set to assess Havertz themselves, while Germany have confirmed that he will not appear for remaining international games.
Germany’s new head coach Jurgen Klopp revealed that MRI scans would take place after Havertz suffered the injury. Klopp admitted the situation was not ideal but said he hoped neither player had suffered a serious problem.
Havertz’s early departure will still concern Arsenal, given his history with injuries. Last season, he could only start 7 Premier League games due to problems with the knee and muscles. He also couldn’t play for almost last 90 days of the 2024/25 season after suffering a hamstring injury.
Arsenal receive positive Havertz injury update
There is some encouragement for Arsenal, with the initial assessment suggesting that Havertz has not suffered a serious injury. The timing also gives him more time to recover before club football returns. Arsenal are due to face Leeds United after the international break. They will then continue a busy run of fixtures, making Havertz’s fitness important to Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Out of the Gunners’ eight games this season, Havertz has started six times and has scored thrice. Another absence would therefore mean the club will have fewer attacking options.
As reported by The Sun, Havertz appeared to indicate that the problem was related to his hamstring while speaking with Germany’s medical staff. The report highlighted his previous issues in the same area, including a lengthy spell out after a hamstring tear. However, there is no indication at this stage that Havertz faces another long-term absence.

Gyokeres could get another chance up front
Havertz’s injury could give Viktor Gyokeres a big chance to play a larger role in Arsenal’s attack. The Sweden international played often as a striker last season. He ended the campaign with 21 goals across all competitions.
His start to this season has been less impressive. Gyokeres has got only 29 minutes of game time in the league. He has also had just one shot in the 2 games against Napoli in the Champions League and Ipswich in the Carabao Cup game. Mikel Merino can also play in the middle if needed. However, Havertz’s absence would still leave Mikel Arteta with fewer options. The injury comes after Arsenal decided not to sign another striker in the summer. The club had been linked with several forwards.
Havertz’s latest injury gives Arsenal another reason to keep a close eye on his recovery. For now, the club will wait for more medical checks. These checks will help decide when Havertz can return to training. The early signs are positive, but Arsenal will not want to rush him back.
