Manchester United has confirmed the acquisition of Isaac Konde from Liverpool, as discussions over compensation between the two clubs continue.

‌

The 16-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year scholarship with the Red Devils, and is expected to commit to a five-year professional deal upon turning 17. The news comes as Alexander Isak returns to Merseyside from international duty with Sweden after picking up an injury.

‌

The Athletic reports that Liverpool anticipates receiving a seven-figure compensation package following Konde's decision not to pursue his development on Merseyside. United announced his arrival in a club statement on Monday. The statement read: "Manchester United have agreed the signing of winger Isaac Konde.

"The talented youngster has joined after leaving Liverpool. The 16-year-old had his first taste of Under-18 football at Liverpool, featuring regularly towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

"Everyone at the club would like to welcome Isaac to United and wish him the very best of luck."

Versatile enough to operate on either flank or centrally, Konde made six U18 Premier League outings for Liverpool last season.

The 16-year-old provided one assist and also featured in the starting XI for the final two matches of the league campaign. However, such involvement proved insufficient to persuade him to commit his future to Anfield.

After turning down the chance to sign scholarship terms with the Reds, he has now departed the club following eight years on Merseyside.

Omitted from the inaugural list of scholars unveiled in July, he has now followed Vincent Joseph in departing the club, after the England youth international made the move to Arsenal earlier this month.

Konde will now link up with Darren Fletcher's U18 squad following his transfer to Old Trafford.

Isak injury

As mentioned, Isak will not play for Sweden again during this international break. He has returned to Merseyside to work on his fitness ahead of Liverpool's Premier League game against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, October 11.

"He's got a small problem with his thigh," explained Sweden's head coach, Graham Potter.

"It's not a big one, but because of the amount of games we've got in a small space of time, he won't be able to make those.

"Not a big one, but frustrating for him, and obviously for us."
