Club football has been on hold in recent weeks, with the focus on the first international break of the season. Tottenham Hotspur have a wide representation during the September break, with 15 of their players away on duty for their respective nations.
So far, Spurs have avoided any injury setbacks to their stars who are away with their countries, which is a welcome boost for Roberto De Zerbi, although five players remain sidelined with injuries and are back at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham versus Manchester United early season El Sackico
Already, Spurs versus Manchester United carries huge significance given the struggles of both sides.
Tottenham sit bottom of the Premier League table, while United are 12th after five matches. Spurs are winless, while United’s only victory came in matchweek two against newly promoted Ipswich Town.
Pressure is mounting on both managers, Roberto De Zerbi and Michael Carrick, and defeat would only worsen the situation.
Spurs cannot afford to lose, as it would widen the gap to the European places. Interestingly, Tottenham have a respectable record against United, winning four of the last six meetings in all competitions. We expect Spurs to get a result, but not a win.

Spurs versus Coventry
Next up for the Lilywhites after the United clash is newly promoted Coventry, with Spurs finally returning home after a month without a game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The last time Spurs were at home, they suffered defeat with Aston Villa beating the Lilywhites 3-2 on their own turf.
Spurs’ home record has been poor, but this fixture offers a chance to change that. It will be Tottenham’s first meeting with a promoted side this season, and we expect them to claim their first win.
Coventry sit 18th with one victory, but Spurs should have enough to beat them.

Chelsea versus Spurs
A clash with Chelsea is the last thing Spurs would want after securing a first win, given their poor record against the Blues.
Tottenham have beaten Chelsea only once in their last ten meetings, a 2-0 win at home in the 2022-23 season. At Stamford Bridge, their record is worse, with the last victory coming in 2017-18.
Chelsea have started the campaign inconsistently, with two wins, two losses and a draw. They can be beaten, but history suggests Spurs rarely succeed at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham versus Crystal Palace
After Chelsea, Spurs welcome Crystal Palace to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While Spurs may not win back-to-back games following defeat to Chelsea, they have a strong chance of securing consecutive home victories.
Palace sit 15th and have conceded 11 goals, more than bottom-placed Spurs. If De Zerbi’s side can create chances, they should score. Palace have netted six themselves, so they could cause problems, but Spurs should edge it.

Leeds United versus Tottenham
Spurs beat Leeds United in the 25-26 season at Elland Road, and a repeat result would be a welcome boost.
However, Leeds have impressed this campaign, particularly in their 4-0 win over Newcastle United at home. Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten at Elland Road and currently sit fifth in the Premier League table.
It will be a tough outing for Spurs, and based on recent form, Leeds look like favourites.
