Cam Ward's sister says the family have received threats and harassment after his awful start to the new NFL season.
Ward, the No.1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has experienced a nightmare start to his sophomore year with the [Tennessee](/news/tennessee/index.html) Titans.
He hit rock bottom in a 12-7 loss to the [New York Giants](/sport/new-york-giants/index.html) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, throwing a game-sealing interception in the red zone when he had the chance to win the game.
It marked the latest chapter in a tough NFL career so far with Ward now 3-17 through his first 20 starts since arriving in Nashville.
The mood around the Titans franchise is low with fans getting restless - and Ward's sister, Chantel, has shared the heartbreaking reality of the impact that has on players' families.
She has spoken out about the threats she and her family has received because of Ward's poor performances on the field.

'The fact I even have to post this is diabolical,' Chantel posted on her social media channels.
'People see the football games, they see the wins, the losses, the interceptions, the touchdowns, the press conferences and everything that happens on the field.
'What they don't see is what comes with it for the people who love these players when the game is over.
'After games, people come directly into my dms on facebook, twitter and instagram with threats, hate, bullying, personal attacks and disrespect toward me and my family – all over football.
'And trust me, the screenshots I share are only a fraction of what comes through.
'There's so much that happens outside of those football games that people will never see. Criticize football all you want. Criticize the performance, criticize the decisions.
'That comes with the territory. But threats, harassment, bullying and attacking someone's family will never be 'just part of the game.''
The Titans are 0-3 after Sunday's loss, while Ward has thrown for less than 200 passing yards in all three games, tossing just two touchdowns.

He broke down his game-sealing final play on Sunday in the aftermath, insisting it was not reckless but instead was poorly executed.
'At the end of the day, if I throw it higher, it's a different outcome,' Ward said.
'I don't think it was reckless. I think you know it just wasn't a good ball at the end of the day.'
Titans head coach Robert Saleh gave a simple 'no' when asked if he would bench Ward, adding: 'He's our guy, and we've got to work through it together.
'There's no magic fix. You keep putting in the work, leaning into the fundamentals, and learning from the mistakes.'
