INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — It’s the 20th anniversary of the Colts’ 2006 team that went on to win Super Bowl XLI.
Former Colts tight end Dallas Clark reflected on what his favorite memory is from the team’s 29-17 victory over the Bears in the Super Bowl.
“One memory that stands out, game happens, right? The game ends, confetti, all wet, all miserable, just beautiful Miami weather. And I somehow end up with the Lombardi Trophy. To this day, I still have no idea how I kept it the whole, I mean no one came and grabbed it. I mean, I’m just kind of walking around. No one takes it. I ended up taking it into the locker room. Then obviously it’s shared with friends and teammates and coaches and staff, but it was the most, I had the trophy for so long that to this, I felt bad. I mean, does anyone know? Okay, I’ll keep it. I was like babysitting, so trophy-sitting. And it was so many great memories: team, coaches. To do it all for you, Colts Nation, was extra special.”
Clark played nine seasons with the Colts from 2003 to 2011, during which he totaled 4,887 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns.
