It's official: the Philadelphia Eagles will be debuting tight end Zach Ertz and edge rusher Jonathan Greenard in the 2026 regular season.
The Eagles announced earlier today that Ertz and linebacker Chance Campbell were elevated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Greenard was listed as questionable with a pectoral injury that kept him out for the first two weeks of the season.

Zach Ertz and Jonathan Greenard will make their Eagles debuts
Ertz's return in an Eagles uniform will be bittersweet for the fan base after spending over eight years in Philly. He was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2021 after winning a Super Bowl and earning three Pro Bowl selections as an Eagle.
The watch for franchise history is officially on for Ertz, who needs 11 receptions to pass Harold Carmichael for first on the Eagles' all-time receptions list. It's not known how involved he will be in the game, but Jalen Hurts will likely look to him.
Ertz arrival comes at a perfect time, with the Eagles' rookie second-round pick Eli Stowers on IR and Goedert out for a few weeks with an injury. Philly will be leaning on Ertz to step up, alongside Johnny Mundt, until Goedert is 100% healthy again.
Greenard officially playing is massive after being traded to Philly during the 2026 NFL Draft from the Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles locked him into a four-year, $100 million contract extension after the trade.
Philly has not seen the return on investment yet, as Greenard has missed the first two games with the pectoral injury. He injured it in a freak accident while lifting weights in the weight room before training camp began.
The Eagles will now have Greenard, Jalyx Hunt, and Nolan Smith Jr. showcasing their skills as a trio together. They are hoping this edge-rusher trio will lead the franchise over the next two years.

Philly is looking to move to 3-0 for the season if they can take down the Bears in the Windy City. Even without Caleb Williams in the lineup for Chicago, this won't be an easy game for the Eagles, but they should still come out on top.
