Kim Little spoke about more dropped points for Arsenal in a 1-0 loss to Chelsea.

The Gunners had taken four from a possible six points against their London rivals in the Women’s Super League last campaign, and they also defeated the Blues 3-2 on aggregate in the Champions League quarterfinal. But they could not extend their good run at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

‘We create a lot of chances’

Alyssa Thompson slotted away the only goal of the game, and it is the third successive weekend that Arsenal failed to win in the league following draws with Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

“Disappointed to not get a result and drop points. We made a really good, strong start to the game in the first half but ultimately when you play against a great team, they’re going to find an opportunity.

“We just let that slip in the first half. Yeah, just disappointment to not pick up the points. We need to refocus, take the positives but also look at what we can improve on for our next game.

“I think, you look at it with perspective, within context, you can sometimes come away from games where you lose or drop points and see it as the worst thing ever but there was lots of good things to take from the match and we need to focus on them as well as the things we can get better.

“Yeah, the small details. We create a lot of chances, and we just need to finish them as a team and as a collective and do better, and I know we can do that.

“Obviously Chelsea are and have been one of the best teams in the country for a very long time. They’re a very tough opponent. So, we always know that when we come here it’s going to be a great game, really intense, highly competitive game and it was.

Focus turns to the Champions League

“Obviously our focus turns to Champions League , we got three points last week, so we need to push on and get the points in that league phase of the Champions League to put us in a good place, and we’ll push for that on Wednesday. And then obviously, going to play Manchester City on Sunday before the international break, it’s a must-win for us, so we’ll do all we can to get that win.”
