The Eagles were finally close to scoring in the second quarter on Monday night against the Bears when quarterback Jalen Hurts took a late hit by D’Marco Jackson. Hurts went flying (further) out of bounds and despite bouncing up and heading back to the huddle, he was ushered off the field to undergo concussion testing in the medical tent.
Thankfully, Hurts was cleared to return shortly afterward, but the QB didn’t look happy he was forced to leave the game.
The Eagles weren’t able to capitalize on their trip to the red zone once Hurts left the field, and after being stuffed twice, Andy Dalton tried to find Dontayvion Wicks at the back of the endzone, but was picked off, instead. The run game was finally moving and the offense was finally moving the ball, and Dalton’s interception was a huge momentum shifting play.
Hopefully Hurts is able to turn things around for the Eagles in the second half.
