Chicago Bears quarterback Case Keenum turned a Philadelphia Eagles coverage breakdown into a 41-yard touchdown Monday night, finding Kalif Raymond in open space during the third quarter at Soldier Field.
With Chicago facing first-and-10 from the Eagles’ 41-yard line, Keenum delivered a short pass over the middle to Raymond. The receiver caught it with separation, turned upfield and raced untouched into the end zone. Cairo Santos converted the extra point, extending the Bears’ lead to 20-7 in the third quarter.
ClutchPoints shared the scoring play on X, formerly Twitter, as Raymond capitalized on the open field and gave the Bears their biggest lead of the night.
Keenum started because Caleb Williams was inactive with a hamstring injury. Tyson Bagent had cleared concussion protocol but remained the Bears’ backup after missing practice time during the week. The 38-year-old entered Monday making his 67th start and his first since December 2023.
The touchdown was Keenum’s second scoring pass of the game. He connected with Luther Burden III for an 8-yard touchdown in the first quarter before finding Raymond for the explosive third-quarter score.
Raymond had six receptions for 90 yards at that point, continuing his early-season role as one of the Bears’ most productive targets. Chicago entered the night 1-1, while Philadelphia arrived at 2-0. Keenum had completed 23 of 32 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns.
Keenum’s second touchdown pass gave the Bears a 20-7 lead late in the third quarter. Chicago’s defense also capitalized on mistakes from Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense, with T.J. Edwards and Dillon Thieneman each recording interceptions as the Bears remained in control early in the fourth quarter.
