Liverpool will be ramping up preparations for the future transfer markets, as the January transfer window creeps closer with every passing day.

‌

The Reds have spent heavily across the previous two summer windows, in the hopes of rebuilding a squad capable of winning the highest honors once again.

‌

That hasn't quite worked so far, but with returning sporting director Julian Ward now in place, the Merseyside outfit may be able to fix some key problems when the future transfer markets roll around.

So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another busy day of action.

Lamine Camara (AS Monaco)

Liverpool has been heavily linked with a move for Lamine Camara for the future, after the Reds eyed a deal over the summer, but decided against formalizing the interest with an official approach.

In that time, Chelsea appeared to make a move, but missed out late on in the market due to some transfer deadline day shenanigans that ultimately saw the 22-year-old stay in Ligue Un.

Following that deal collapsing, Liverpool has been linked with a move for the coming transfer market, however TeamTalk claims that Chelsea retain an interest in signing the midfielder and has tracked all his minutes so far this season.

It is claimed that a January move could be on the cards, while the Reds continue to appreciate his ability.

Liverpool.com says: A midfield move for Liverpool could be on the cards, following clear concerns over the balance within the central ranks.

However, considering the amount that the Reds have already invested in recent months, a big move in January may be unlikely as a result.

That could give a team like Chelsea the upper hand, if an agreement can be reached in the winter, while there may be other priorities for the Merseyside outfit to consider, such as right-back and the right-wing.

Ronald Araujo (Barcelona)

Ronald Araujo has already made quite the impression since joining Liverpool on loan from Barcelona, with the defender showing plenty of quality playing at right-back.

Having played at the highest level, the Uruguayan international offers some experience to the backline that is filled with young talent, while offering the ability to cover at both centre-back and right-back, which have been problem areas in terms of squad depth.

While there is still plenty of time before a decision has to be made on his future, Mundo Deportivo claims that Liverpool is seriously considering making use of the player's permanent buy option clause in his deal.

The clause is worth roughly $62 million, and would remove any need to negotiate a deal with Barcelona, leaving it up the player to make his decision moving forward.

It remains to be seen whether the Reds will trigger that clause, with a deadline set for some point next summer.

Liverpool.com says: While there is a clear temptation to keep Araujo, at this stage it is far too early to tell whether it will be the right call or not.

The defender only has a small sample size of performances with Liverpool so far, and there will be plenty of different challenges he will need to face and pass before the right call can be made either way.

While Araujo may well impress, there are then questions about other options on the market that could fill his position, or whether there is better value there or elsewhere.

It means any decision should be taken months in the future, rather than in the January transfer window.
