Case Keenum started at quarterback for the Chicago Bears in Week 3 after Caleb Williams suffered a Grade 2 hamstring injury last week. With Williams out, Keenum played shockingly well for someone who hadn’t played in an NFL game in over a thousand days. In fact, he played so well the Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago fans are going to be excited to see him do it again next Sunday.
After the game Keenum joined Scott Van Pelt on “SportsCenter.” They were in turn joined by Keenum’s daughter Cadence. What followed was a wholesome, appreciative interview with the quarterback and some adorable moments with his daughter peppered throughout.
Golly, indeed.

Keenum’s first game in years was enough to make his daughter want to watch film instead of Bluey tomorrow, but we’ll need a follow-up on that later this week. This will be her first opportunity to grind some tape since she wasn’t born the last time dad started. In an interview before the game, Keenum said he was going into the game hoping to make his kids proud.
"I've enjoyed every minute of this."

He did that and so much more. Not only did he throw his first pass since Christmas Eve 2023, but he also threw multiple touchdown passes for the first time since October 13, 2019. The other quarterback(s) that day? Josh Rosen in his final NFL start and his backup, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The wait for his next start will not be as long. Keenum and the Bears will host the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. It should be fun. And if it’s not, we can always just turn on Bluey.
