Manchester United have added to their academy ranks despite the transfer window being closed. The club is making the most of the international break after adding yet another promising gem to its ranks.

‌

The signing comes amid a difficult start to the season for Michael Carrick. His squad has faced further injury concerns during the international break, raising alarm before players get ready to return in a little over a week's time.

‌

United will get back underway sitting 12th in the Premier League and already out of the Carabao Cup, with the pressure on to turn around a shakey start. rounds up the latest transfer news surrounding Old Trafford today.

United urged to sign City duo

Gabriel Agbonlahor has suggested Carrick could target local rivals Manchester City in the wake of recent events. The football world continues to reel from the news that City are set to be found guilty on 114 of their 115 charges relating to Premier League financial breaches.

At present, no announcement has been made regarding City's punishment or potential appeal. Nevertheless, a significant player exodus is anticipated at the Etihad should their sanction prove severe enough to result in potential relegation.

If that proves to be the case, Agbonlahor identified two particular talents United should pursue. Speaking on talkSPORT when asked which players United ought to target from their fierce rivals, Agbonlahor said: "[Gianluigi] Donnarumma – I have been watching [Senne] Lammens.

"Poor at the World Cup, cost Belgium in that game, and I think he has not been great this season. Look at the own goal – Lisandro Martinez against Fulham. He has got to be better with that save. I am not convinced in him.

"I will say Donnarumma to Manchester United. Manchester United will go and nick their number one goalkeeper."

He continued: "Elliot Anderson – Manchester United wanted you, now you go there. Manchester United – you wanted Elliot Anderson, go and get him for maybe half the price."

The prospect of Anderson arriving, following his £116m transfer from Nottingham Forest in the summer, appears the less probable of the two given United's summer was focused on recruiting midfielders. Many supporters might welcome the notion of acquiring a goalkeeper of Donnarumma's quality at the club, however, following his £26m move from PSG last year.

Konde joins from Liverpool

United have announced the acquisition of winger Isaac Konde, who has made the switch from Liverpool. The teenager will join his new club's academy in pursuit of a first-team opportunity, just as JJ Gabriel appears destined to depart.

The arrangement isn't completely finalised just yet, though, with The Athletic reporting Liverpool are pursuing millions in compensation. Konde will reportedly be handed professional terms when he turns 17 in October but has signed a scholarship agreement for now.

A club statement read: "Manchester United have agreed the signing of winger Isaac Konde. The talented youngster has joined after leaving Liverpool.

"The 16-year-old had his first taste of Under-18 football at Liverpool, featuring regularly towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Everyone at the club would like to welcome Isaac to United and wish him the very best of luck."

Konde, 16, is a versatile winger who can operate on either flank. He registered one assist in six appearances for Liverpool's under-18s last term, enjoying increased prominence towards the latter stages of the season.

The signing follows United's recent pattern of poaching young talent from rival clubs. Just last week, the club announced the captures of central midfielders David Eze and Karim Cassim following their departures from neighbours City.
