For a child, walking out onto a Premier League pitch as a mascot can create a memory that will last a lifetime. But at some clubs, this can only happen if parents have deep pockets.
Since the mid-1990s, top-flight teams have marched into battle hand in hand with child mascots. Kids aged mostly between six and 10, sometimes up to 14, get the opportunity to meet some of the game's biggest names and stand toe-to-toe with their idols in front of thousands.
An 11-year-old Wayne Rooney famously walked out during a 1996 Merseyside derby as an Everton mascot, before he'd go on to achieve footballing immortality with Manchester United.
Arsenal
The reigning top-flight champions provide mascot opportunities to kids aged four to 11 free of charge. However, they must be Junior Gunners members - a membership which costs between £15 and £25. Once a child has been signed up, their name is entered into a draw for each match and mascots are randomly selected.

Aston Villa
Whilst Aston Villa do not charge for being a mascot at a home fixture - this used to set fans back between £524 and £569 per game - like the Gunners, they choose at random from their junior members pool. Membership costs £30 for the season and adult members and season ticket holders can also enter a draw for their child, aged five to 12, to walk out with Unai Emery's side.
However, a caveat is that the child will need to wear the season's full official kit on the pitch and match tickets are not included. Kits could range from £50 to £115 and you'd have to add the price of a matchday ticket.
Bournemouth
Bournemouth offer both the chance to be named a mascot through membership or a commercial package. For Category A fixtures, the packages cost £360 and for Category B, they cost £316. This includes two match tickets, one for the mascot and one for an accompanying adult, a voucher to redeem a full playing kit, pitchside access, a goodie bag and food vouchers.

Junior Cherries members can also enter a draw for two free mascot places and this membership costs between £10 and £17. However, a valid match ticket must be held to enter the draw and kids must be aged between six and 14.
Brentford
Brentford's mascot selection process is conducted via a ballot, with junior season ticket holders aged six to 12 eligible to register. For almost all areas of the Gtech Community Stadium, the cost for a junior season ticket is £135 for the 2026/27 season. Members (fee starting at £20) could also register for the ballot if there is availability.
Brighton & Hove Albion
Like South Coast rivals Bournemouth, Brighton run a ballot for their Junior MyAlbion+ members (registration costs £30) before every home game and two free places are drawn from the hat. But they also offer commercial packages to bypass this.
These are opened in priority order, not just to any member of the public. Season ticket holders and members are offered these packages first, then junior members and finally the general public. They start at £260 for lesser games with the Standard Package, which includes two match tickets and a full home kit for the child, who must be between seven and 12 years old.

Fans could pay £335 for this package in high-category games. Then there's the Captain's Package, which ranges from £360 to £435 and includes an extra match ticket. The child will walk out with skipper Lewis Dunk, or whoever has the armband if he isn't playing.
Chelsea
Chelsea do not offer packages and instead, children must be aged between six and 12 during the season for which they are applying and be Junior Blue members, which costs £35 per season. Instead of a ballot, Chelsea have a waiting list. All positions for the current season are filled.
Coventry City

The Sky Blues do not have a lottery system for home games and instead sell packages exclusively. The Captain's Package is the most premium, costing £399 per match. For this fee, children can walk out with the team captain and get a full official kit, but matchday tickets are not included. Other packages involving other players cost £350.
The club does, however, allow those attending to reserve a ticket for a child and two adults. These are not available to the general public either. To even view the sales windows, children must be Junior Sky Blues members, even if they are junior season ticket holders. This costs £30 for the season and kids must be between the ages of five and 13.
Coventry does offer a completely free ballot for junior members for away matches. If drawn, they'll be the club's mascot at whatever stadium they're visiting, but must have an away ticket and a full kit.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace run a paid commercial system for their mascots, but there is also a four to five-season-long waiting list. The price ranges from £255 to £520 between Gold and Silver packages.
Two match tickets in the Main Stand are included. A kit is not in the Silver package. To even sign up for the lengthy queue, children aged five to 14 must be junior members, a membership that costs between £25 and £60 per season.
Everton
Everton's selection process is again done via a random draw. Junior members (£10 to £40 to join) enter a ballot and two are drawn for each home game. However, there is also the option for a paid charity package.
For a select few matches each season, fans can purchase a package for their child aged five to 13 for a total of £718, with all proceeds going to Everton in the Community. This includes two matchday tickets, a stadium tour and some other perks.
Fulham

Fulham do things differently. Their mascot selection process is handled entirely by the Fulham FC Foundation, the club's charity arm. They use a dual-lottery-ticket-and-auction hybrid for slots ahead of each home match.
Children/parents do not have to be members to enter either of these. You can spend £5 on a lottery ticket on the foundation's website and the winners will be named mascots. There is also a matchday auction so that a few slots will be sold to the highest bidder. These fluctuate heavily depending on the opponent.
Raffle and auction winners receive a full home kit and two match tickets. Again, the child must be aged between five and 13. For example, the opening bid for Fulham's next home game against Hull City starts at £550, but bids often reach £700 or more.
Hull City
Newly promoted Hull City do not offer packages. Instead, their selection process is conducted via a matchday lottery. Children must be aged between five and 12 to enter and must be junior members, which costs £8 per month or £96 annually. Match tickets are included.
Ipswich Town
For children aged six to 13, Ipswich Town offer home mascot packages which cost £275. However, to even get a chance to purchase, one must submit an application and the club runs a ballot amongst applicants.
Match tickets are included, and junior members (priced between £29.99 and £38.99) also have the chance to enter a separate priority free ballot. The club also offers a free reciprocal away mascot ballot for certain fixtures, with kids needing to be between six and 13.
Leeds United
Usually, Leeds are like many other clubs and offer a ballot to junior members, a privilege that costs between £0 and £40. Children must be aged between five and 12. However, for certain fixtures, they offer paid packages. For example, last year they faced Arsenal and sold six £500 match places on a first-come, first-served basis, with all proceeds going to the Leeds United Foundation.
Liverpool

For regular home games, the Reds use the standard ballot, with young members (£20.99 annual fee) entered into a draw. This is for children aged six to 11 and includes three match tickets.
But Liverpool also offer up official LFC Foundation auctions for specific matches. These do not require any membership but are incredibly competitive, regularly reaching thousands of pounds. When they faced rivals Manchester United in October 2025, one experience sold for £13,249. Of course, all proceeds go to charity.
Manchester City
To walk out as a mascot at the Etihad Stadium, children must be members (which costs £20), and their parents must have filled out a sign-up form at the start of the season. This will enter the child in the ballot for every home game during that campaign. Kids must be aged five to 12 and two match tickets are included.
Manchester United
United offer almost the exact same options as rivals Liverpool. A £20 membership is required to enter a child, aged seven to 13, in a ballot. But a small number of slots are auctioned off for the Manchester United Foundation each year. An experience before a clash against Nottingham Forest last season went for £10,783 and these regularly sell for between £4,000 and £5,000.

Newcastle United
There are no paid packages on offer at St James' Park. Newcastle simply charge £20 per year for junior membership, which unlocks a free mascot ballot for kids aged between six and 11. The club sends out the entry forms via their official junior email newsletter.
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have come under fire over their mascot package pricing. They, like most clubs, offer a select number of spots for free via a membership ballot. Junior membership costs £33 for the year and kids must be aged between seven and 12.
But they also offer regular charitable ballots and raffles, as well as hospitality packages. It has been reported that these packages can cost between £2,160 and £3,360. Last season, it was claimed that their packages cost £2,000 and had sold out for the season.
Sunderland
Sunderland have recently launched a free ballot system for junior members who pay £30 per year, but they also offer a paid package. A waiting list determines this and it costs £185 per match, including two tickets. However, this queue is closed until at least the 2028/29 season. Kids must be aged six to 12.

Tottenham
Spurs used to charge up to £405 for their mascot packages but now, everything is done via a free draw. One Hotspur Junior members can be entered into the draw and this membership costs between £20 and £25. Children must be aged between five and 14 and two match tickets are included.
