The future of Estevao Willian is a hot topic amongst the Chelsea fan base at the time of writing.
Earlier this month, a report from Brazil claimed the 19-year-old is frustrated with his lack of playing time - with only 23 minutes of Premier League action under his belt - in the early stages of the season. The same report also said he would consider moving away from Stamford Bridge should the situation remain the same.
More recently, a report from Spain has linked Barcelona with the Chelsea attacker. Barca are said to be keeping close tabs on the teenager to see if things become better for him at Stamford Bridge this term.
Chelsea sources, though, insist Estevao remains an untouchable asset and is still considered a major part of the club's long-term future. football.london's Bobby Vincent and Jake Stokes have been discussing what to do with Estevao and what's next for the Brazilian and the two have reached an agreement.

A curious situation. You can see both sides.
Chelsea's side is that Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have played some excellent football at the start of the season. How does Xabi Alonso drop one of them at the moment?
Alonso will be hoping Palmer, who pulled out of the England squad due to a muscular injury, is fit enough to feature against Bournemouth after the international break. If he isn't, though, then that's a potential way in for the Brazil international.

It seems wing-back is not an option for Estevao, with Alonso saying earlier this month that he prefers the Brazilian as one of the attacking trio.
From Estevao's point of view, he had a brilliant debut campaign in England but has barely had a sniff so far this term. As long as he continues to apply himself in training, that's all Alonso can ask of him.
It's worth noting that we are seven games into the new season. Things happen in football and opportunities may start to present themselves as the campaign continues.
That's what Estevao has to wait for. It might be frustrating but his chance to shine will come - and when it does, he needs to be able to take the opportunity.

Chelsea should do whatever it takes to keep Estevao at Stamford Bridge. With so many fixtures in the calendar, it won't be long until the 19-year-old winger has a key role to play for Alonso's side, so he and his representatives must remain patient.Although Estevao hasn't featured much in the early stages of the season, it's important to remember that he suffered a nasty hamstring injury in April 2026, which subsequently ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign and denied him the chance to represent Brazil at the World Cup.

If he had only sustained a minor knock, like a sprained ankle or dead leg, then I'd understand the concerns about his lack of game time so far this term. But Estevao suffered one of the scariest muscle injuries possible, regardless of the grade, so in some ways I'm glad he's been carefully managed thus far.Alonso and the medical staff would be crucified if the Brazilian were to have aggravated in the opening weeks of the campaign! So long as Estevao play a progressively substantial role in the starting lineup from October to November, I won't have any qualms.Chelsea will need everyone available during the festive period, so availability will be key. Ultimately, I think the teenager is in safe hands, and I'm looking forward to seeing whether he can earn a place in the starting line-up.
