Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has wasted no time during this international break.
Pedro had to pull out of the Brazil squad because of injury and missed Chelseaโs 3-0 defeat to Brentford just before club football took a pause. No decision on whether he will be included in the squad to face Bournemouth has been made, but the 24-year-old is doing everything he can to be fit for that game.
According to The Standard, Pedro has been visiting a specialist in London in a bid to recover from his injury as quickly as possible. Danny Welbeck has proved to be a capable deputy in the Carabao Cup, but Xabi Alonso needs Pedro back soon.
Going forward, Chelsea have been phenomenal this season. However, they really struggled against Brentford in Pedroโs absence.
In total, Pedro has scored three goals and provided three assists in just four Premier League appearances. He has been an output machine under Alonso!
Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing Pedro during the summer transfer window. But unsurprisingly, it was a non-starter, with Chelsea unwilling to sell such a key player.
Since then, the Brazil international has signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Pedro, Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo are all thought to be untouchable.
